As Art Director, I joined scouts and pre-production meetings, assessing the project’s needs and defining the budget, tools, and crew requirements. I developed the logistics plan and selected the art team, coordinating hiring, vendors, and payments in collaboration with Production and Accounting. I worked closely with Locations to plan builds and strikes, and designed the sets, presenting proposals to the Director and the Director of Photography and Costume Designer for creative and technical alignment.

I developed 3D models to visualize the sets and coordinated technical requirements with the Construction team. I also scouted prop houses, selected set decoration, and sourced materials. I designed graphics and prepared mechanical files for print. During filming, I led the Art Department through preparation, builds, and strikes, overseeing the execution and continuity of the design. I also managed art expenses and delivered the final accounting.

During principal photography, I conducted the visual and contextual research that informed the set design, exploring both conceptual and material references. From this research, I developed design proposals and solutions, communicating them through images, diagrams, drawings, and 3D models, and coordinating their implementation with the Set Decoration, Graphics, Props, and Construction teams.

I designed the Look & Feel deck for Netflix, bringing together visual tools to support the Director in understanding and developing the project. I  also created set folders containing the Production Design proposals and coordinated communication across Direction, Camera, Production, and Costume departments, sharing color and material references to maintain an integrated visual language.

I developed references and designs for the Graphics department, including field research at the National Newspaper Archive (Hemeroteca Nacional), as well as the selection of specific artworks in collaboration with the Director. I also carried out hands-on projects requiring a high level of detail that fell outside the budget, and supported the team during builds and shoots.

For the international units, I was the sole member of the Art Department working alongside the Production Designer during prep. I took part in pre-production meetings and led research, design, and coordination with local Art Directors in South Africa, France, and Italy, ensuring continuity with the work developed in Mexico. I prepared art folders and supporting documents for each country, connecting locations, sequences, and art requirements, and coordinated the international shipment of props to maintain continuity and visual cohesion across the project.
